Laguna Seca or Bust: The road to the 2007 Red Bull US Grand Prix - Part 2
by STP, Rides and Gear - July 24, 2007
Wow! Another US Grand Prix has come and gone. While I was thrilled to see Stoner essentially destroy the rest of the field, I was a bit saddened when the two Americans took each other out of contention at turn two. I wasn't expecting for Hayden to pull off the hat-trick, but with his stellar start I was hoping that he would at least make things interesting up amongst the leaders. Oh well...that's racing. Either way, you have to respect the Ducati/Stoner package. He was fastest in every practice/qualifying session. I even read that his lap times never deviated by more than a tenth throughout the race. Incredible!
Anyhow, while the race was a bit anti-climactic, the spectacle of MotoGP at Laguna Seca surely did not disappoint. In typical MotoGP fashion, Laguna Seca was overrun with bikes, girls, fans, vendors, and manufacturers..and SMR was there to capture it for you. Stay tuned for for my ride reports to and from Monterey.
