What sets SMR apart from other GPS file exchange sites? SMR combines the power and flexibility of emerging GPS, database, and geographic information systems (GIS) technologies with community content to provide a "one-stop-shop" for motorcycling enthusiasts to conveniently access and share routes, services, tips, and experiences. The goal of sundaymorningrides.com is to centralize and simplify access to personalized information that will allow fellow riders to expand and enrich one another's view of the world accessible on two wheels.
Contribute Content:
How do I contribute my own rides? Click here or the "Upload Rides" icon in the uppler section of the right panel sidebar. At present, uploaded rides require 24-48 hours to be fully integrated with the site. We use this time to verify the integrity of the file, add custom information layers, and to discourage spammers. Immediately upon submission, however, you can view your track (minus waypoints) as it will appear in the Mapper via the "Pending" tab from the Road or Adventure listing pages. Attribution for all uploaded rides and refinements will of course be preserved and credited to the contributor. All contributions shall be bound by our Terms or Service.
What if I have a great ride, but I don't have it captured in a GPS/GPX file? Simply email us the directions. In most cases we can "create" the ride and integrate it into the system. You'll be given full attribution, and you'll be able to add descriptions and media as you wish once it is integrated with the site. All contributions shall be bound by our Terms or Service.
Will my personal waypoints be preserved and distinguishable from the other SMR descriptive layers? Of course! SMR will not modify any of the contributed rides. Rather we will add information to complement each ride where appropriate and provide mechanisms for the community to also add new descriptive information. From the mapper these layers can all be interchangeably exposed or hidden. When downloading this ride from the site, users will be given the option to select only the original contribution or a new file with the original track and any combination of supplemental information layers included.
Can I add content or media (images, video) to rides already contributed? Once a ride has been enabled within the site, you can add descriptions, media, and new waypoints. You can even link media to existing waypoints. Simply click on the "Ride Media" tab next to the "Ride Description" heading on the map page. You'll be able to browse all existing media associated with the ride and add new content. To add media to specific waypoints, simply click on the waypoint within the Mapper itself. Click on the "Add Media" link. You will be directed to a separate form that will allow you to upload images geocoded to that position. This media will automatically be added to the "Ride Media" page. From the mapper you can also add new waypoints to an existing ride. Simply select the "Add New Waypoint" link. Again, you will be directed to a form to submit new content. All contributions shall be bound by our Terms or Service
How can I contribute to the featured content of sundaymorningrides.com? To recommend a featured ride please Contact us and tell us why you are crazy about that route. Feel free to be verbose, brief, comical or serious in your description. If selected, we'll contact you to prepare the description/write-up. Current and future SMR featured content exists to showcase interests of our most valued partners...all of you! So please don't be shy, introduce yourselves!!
Why are all images watermarked upon upload? Nope, we aren't trying to claim your media as our own. Quite the opposite in fact. We watermark and significantly downsample all images so that you retain control over your original content. Media accessible from the site will only be watermarked copies not original content.
What do you mean by "Report this waypoint"? While we hope all waypoints contributed to Sunday Morning Rides will be current, valid, relevant, and useful, we know there will be a few bogus waypoints that manage to slip under our noses. If you find them please report them to us, and we'll correct and/or remove any offenders.

Will GPX files work with my GPS/navigation unit? GPX (the GPS Exchange Format) is a light-weight XML data format for the interchange of GPS data (waypoints, routes, and tracks) between applications and Web services on the Internet. GPX is suppored by both Garmin and Magellan as well as a host of other services. Check out http://www.topografix.com/gpx_resources.asp for a full list of GPX supported programs and devices.
Partnership:
How do I become a sponsor of sundaymorningrides.com? If you have a product or service that could directly benefit our community, we would love to talk with you about sponsorship and/or direct partnership opportunities. The details of our preferred sponsorship mechanisms are outlined on the "Sponsor" tab accessed from the top navigation bar.
The technologies of SMR would be great for my own activity. Is there a way to partner with you to adopt SMR technologies? All of the underlying technologies driving our interactive mapper have been created with modularity and extensibility in mind. While we hope the technology will filter out and further empower other motorcycling clubs and communities, we would enjoy talking with anyone who has a similar need.
Website technical/troubleshooting:
Which browser should I use? Sundaymorningrides.com supports the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Opera. That being said, we do all our development and primary testing with Firefox. If you use other browsers such as Lynx (god-forbid) you are probably used to sites that don't look or feel quite "right" and have already learned to deal with it.
How should I configure my browser to best utilize sundaymorningrides.com? Sundaymorningrides.com is chock-full of Javascript, so you'll have to enable that in your browser. Most browsers have it turned on by default, so if you run a browser that doesn't support Javascript, it's probably by choice, and you are used to websites not working (unfortunately sundaymorningrides.com will be one of those sites).
I'm experiencing difficulty with the maps while using Microsoft Internet Explorer. How do I fix this? Click Here
