Second day of test under heavy rain on the Australian racetrack: all riders and teams tested rain tyres until the sunshine slowly replaced the rain, later in the afternoon, and when track conditions finally improved. The testing session ended with great results for the team Honda Gresini: Alex De Angelis increased progressively his lap time and concluded the day second overall, while team mate Shinya Nakano, concentrated on the bike set-up and the development of the Nissin brakes, concluded fourth. Great satisfaction for the Italian team.

ALEX DE ANGELIS, 54 laps, best time 1.30.449
"Well, I sure am very happy with my result today! When I first stepped on my bike this morning, it was raining and conditions weren't too favourable, but when the race track started to dry up during the day, we could finally start working hard on the bike set-up. My team and I are satisfied with the work we have done. Like yesterday, also today we have used only race tyres, but tomorrow we are going to try something different and possibly improve further our results. In Malaysia, last week, I wasn't feeling at the top, but here I feel really great and I think I proved it on track today!"

SHINYA NAKANO, 74 laps, best time 1.31.316
I can say I am satisfied with my work today although I couldn't improve my result from yesterday. I was concentrated on the bike, testing new set-ups, the fork and the development of Nissin brakes. I worked hard and I think my results are positive. Finally I am enjoying riding a bike again and this is a very important thing for a rider. We will keep on working hard on the Honda RC212V bike tomorrow, last day of test here in Australia."

FAUSTO GRESINI, team manager, at the end of the day stated: "I am very pleased to see both my riders at the top: Alex in second position and Shinya in fourth, no doubt a great day! Alex impressed me with his determination and his will to improve his lap time: he could easily set his best time under 1.31. Shinya's performance is great as well, he is working hard and is strongly motivated to get back to the top. Well dome guys, I am proud of you all!"
