Great River Road and Calhoun County Loop

This is a very nice 90 mile ride that starts in Alton, IL at 'Fast Eddies' and proceeds north to 'Danny's Lounge'. After leaving 'Danny's', ride north up the Great River Road along the Illinois River to Grafton, IL and be sure to stop for refreshments at the 'Wild Goose Saloon'. When you leave 'The Goose', ride north until you reach the Brussels Ferry (free) and cross the Illinois River and ride North to Brussels, IL. Be sure to stop at 'The Whitmond Inn' for one of the best 'family style dinners' you will ever have. From Brussels, continue riding North to Hardin, IL and keep going until you reach the Hamburg-Michael Rd. Don't forget, 'The Barefoot Restaurant' has cold refreshments and great walleye. Ride West on Hamburg-Michael Rd to Hamburg, IL. Turn South on Calhoun County Road 2 until it changes to Mississippi River Road. Follow it until you reach Road N and follow it bach to Brussels, IL. (Use caution when riding from Michael-Hamburg road, County road 2, and Mississippi Road. They are narrow and twisty in places.) Keep riding back to Brussels Ferry and South to Grafton. Be sure to stop at 'The Loading Dock' on the South end of town for refreshments and good food.
