I had ridden to Des Moines IA and wanted to take a better route back toward St. Louis than the interstate. This is the route I took. It is rural and scenic (for Iowa and Northern Missouri). I would get fuel when the opportunity presents itself, there are portions of this ride that may not pass fuel very often. When you turn south off US Hwy 136 onto Hwy 15, you may want to make a short detour into Memphis Missouri. Try out Keith's Cafe, it is the best steak in this area of the country. It is worth a lunch or dinner ride on its own. This is a good alternative to the interstate and a fun ride through an area that is not traveled often.
