The best way to describe Mattole Rd is that it's in the middle of nowhere - hence the monkier 'The Lost Coast'. Curving toward the Mendicino Light house from Fortuna, this road is about 70 miles of paved motorcycle bliss. Twisty, meandering turns (a bit tight andbumpy in areas) frame classic northern CA coastal scenery. As you leave the coast, the road ends with a trip through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Stop and take a picture with some of the tallest know coast redwood trees (some over 100m).
