Sunrise Hwy, Cuyamaca Hwy Loop

Another great ride up and around Mt. Laguna. This ride is nearly identical to the Santa Ysabel to Otay Lakes ride, as it takes you to Julian and then over and up Sunrise Hwy. As you come down the back side of Mt. Laguna just before the Interstate 8 interchange, take a right on Old Hwy 80. Old Hwy 80 will connect you back to the 79 (Cuyamaca Hwy) heading north. The 79 through Cuyamaca Rancho State Park has some nice twisty bits with some very interesting, high speed sweepers as you circle around the Lake. Unfortunately this is a very popular road with few turnouts, so your experience can often be dampened by traffic. The 79 will of course lead you back to Julian completing the tidy loop
