If you are in the Montgomery Alabama area and riding down to the Gulf of Mexico coast, this is one good route. Be sure to gas up before you get too far, there are few gas stations in southern Alabama and the Florida panhandle away from the coast. One interesting stop is Ponce de Leon State Park just north of I-10. Well worth the $5 to enter the park and enjoy the springs. Also, if you are looking for a place to stay when you reach Panama City Beach, try 'The Beachcomber By The Sea'. It is to the left when Hwy 79 reaches Beach Front Road. If you are thirsty and hungry, check out Dusty's Oyster Bar, cold beer and good food. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.
