This is a 53 mile ride from Osseo WI to Holcombe WI. Get off I-94 at Osseo and head for the Norske Nook Bakery and Restaurant for lunch or just a piece of pie. Great food and reasonable prices. After getting your fill, head out of town east on US 10 and ride north on CR-R toward US 12 and Augusta WI. Turn east on US 12 into Augusta and then ride north on Hwy 27 to the junction of Hwy 27 and Hwy 29 at Cadott. Here you have the opportunity to make a nice side trip west on Hwy 29 to Cheppewa Falls and the Leinenkugal Brewery. Leinenkugal Beer, brewed by 73 people who care, says so on their bottle, I believe it after visiting the brewery. Great sidetrip and a nice giftshop at the brewery, the tour takes about 45 minutes and is free. You get two 8 oz. samples at the giftshop and a discount coupon for a couple of sixpacks if you feel the need (I like the Creamy Dark). After leaving the brewery, backtrack on Hwy 29 east to Hwy 27 and ride north. Also note that as you ride through Cadott, you are crossing the 45 parallel, half way between the equator and the north pole (there is a sign). Continue north on Hwy 27 through Cornell and up to Holcombe. On the right in Holcombe is the Steel Horse Cafe, owned and operated by bikers. They serve a great breakfast and have some nice pictures and item around the restaurant. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.
