Forest Heritage Nat Scenic BywayRide Description and CommentsContributer: TerrySC (03-20-2008) A very enjoyable ride. Summer weekends can be busy along Hwy 276 but there is much to see and do in the Pisgah National Forest. Perhaps the best known waterfall in the area is Looking Glass Falls. It's about 4 miles north of the ranger station on 276 on the right side of the road and is handicap accessible. It's also OK to swim in the pool at the base of the falls, but it's swim at your own risk. You get a view of the falls from the road, but you'll want to pull over and wander down to Looking Glass Creek for a better look. Good photo angles can be had from a little ways down creek.
