Engineers Rd (Julian Loop)

If your heading into Julian on the 79, take the Engineer's road detour as you wind around Lake Cuyamaca. This is amazingly scenic route throug hthe mountains taht will dump you off just west of Julian back on the 79. AS you wind up the hill, you be treated with incredible views of Barona Valley and the surrounding Cleveland National Forrest. Beware of small debris on the road (twigs, some loose sand). The road surface will vary as you wind throug hte mountains. There are few signs posted, so also look out for a couple suicide switchbacks (5mph). All in all, enjoy a hidden San Diego gem.
