Scenic Highway FM 390: A 39-mile paved highway through pastoral countryside and historic sites important to the creation of the Republic of Texas. The drive passes through pastoral farm and ranch country important in the early days of the Republic of Texas. The area is particularly notable for spring wildflowers, such as bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, and phlox. Most of the route follows FM 390, called La Bahia Road and designated as a scenic route by the Texas Department of Transportation.
