Oxford to Pontotoc (SR334)

If you're in a hurry, most folks take hwy 6 west out of Oxford when traveling to Pontotoc or Tupelo, MS. If you have plenty of time and had rather take a more scenic route, hwy 334 is the way to go. This is an enjoyable back-road ride that meanders though hilly forestland and river valleys. The road takes you though the little communities and villages such as Yocona, Dogtown, Toccopola and Springville. The west end of 334 intersects with hwy 9. Turn left (north) on 9 to go to Pontotoc and turn right (south) if you're interested in exploring Bruce, MS. The condition of 334 is good and usually not much traffic. A very pleasant ride that will carry you thought some of the more rural areas of north Mississippi.
